When the First Lady Michelle Obama

catapulted. Now one of the most respected jewelry designers in
Hollywood has created a new line of jewelry for Disney Couture
inspired by the Tim Burton re-visioned movie of Alice in Wonderland.

Binns, who in the
last few years gave us neon spray painted floral '50s-style
& African jewelry, is lending his post-punk wit to
necklaces and bracelets?all inspired by the over the to
style of Tim Burton?s movie.
Burton?s ?Alice in Wonderland? starts
where the Lewis Carroll story left off: When a
19-year-old Alice (Mia Wasikowska) falls down a rabbit hole
and reacquaints with old friends, the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp),
Tweedledee and Tweedledum (Matt Lucas) and the Knave of
Hearts (Crispin Glover), before going toe-to-toe with the
dreaded "off with their heads" Red Queen (Helena
Bonham Carter). |
Note the stellar cast, you will easily
understand the excitement over this sure-to-be masterpiece. Alan
Rickman (Snape in Harry Potter) is the Caterpillar. Anne Hathaway is
the White Queen, Timothy Spall (Wormtail in Harry Potter) and Christopher
Lee as the Jabberwock.
Lewis Carroll?s book may have been about his
Opium-fueled literary imaginings, but with Binns? psychedelic
tricks, there?s no need for any extracurricular drugs. His designs
are mind-altering enough.
Binns will be producing two different collections
featuring our favorite story characters. The high end Tom Binns for
Walt Disney Signature limited edition based on just 6 pieces?dark
Cheshire cat grin earrings, a Queen of Hearts bracelet with resin
and Swarovski crystal hearts, and keyhole-shaped rings featuring
images of Wonderland?hit stores nationwide in February priced
at $1000- $3000.
The lower priced line called Tom Binns for Disney
Couture is larger at 35 pieces and will be in the $50-250. This
collection will include photo designs embellished with lace and
Swarovski crystals.
The artwork, set design, costumes, creatures -
just about everything - is a visual feast. So as a certain White
Rabbit would prefer - don't be late for a very important date! The
movie will be out in March 5, 2010.
